Before paying any money it is important you read any booking conditions. Deposits vary depending on which company you are are booking with. They are usually non-refundable and vary in amounts. However a deposit does not guarantee any airfare. To secure an airfare you must pay in full.
Many companies request final payment about two months prior to the departure of the trip. If you are booking the trip within the about two months of departure you will be required to pay in full. Airfares must be paid in full to secure the price.
All tour companies and all airfares have cancellation fees. They can be up to 100% so it is worth reading any booking conditions prior to any payment. I would advise anyone travelling to take out travel insurance before paying any sizeable amount.
These can be very low or very high so make sure you know what they are before you make a booking and pay any money. Some airfares make you pay a fee just to change a date while some also make you upgrade to the next highest fare available where you pay the fee and the fare difference. Some tour companies treat as a cancellation, any amendment once inside the two months.
Direct deposits and cheques are acceptable in Australian dollars. Credit and charge cards are a common form of payment but can attract fees. Call or email me for more details.
These are guidelines only so please read any relevant booking conditions before paying out any of your hard earned money.
